Hi, Does anybody know where I can locate a copy of the John Cage documentary "Revenge of the Dead Indians" (1993) by Henning Lohner? It sounds very interesting, and Zorn also appears in it, btw. And what about Cage CDs where he reads or talks. Is there any CDs released with Cage interviews on, or maybe where he reads some of his many famous anecdotes and small stories? I'd love to hear something like that. Cheers! _________________________________________________________________ STOP MORE SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail

In addition to the good list that Herb posted, I can also recommend the 8-CD set "Diary: How to improve the World (You will only make Matters worse)" released by Wergo. In it, Cage reads a diary from many years, include many very brief stories. It may be more than what you're looking for, but I like it a lot. There's a recording of Cage reading his "Composition in Retrospect" on the Bridge Records CD of his "Sonatas and Interludes". The hardcover edition of his "I-VI" included two cassettes. One was the recording of one of the long mesostics that was included as a CD with the paperback edition, but the other was taken from Question and Answer sessions at the lecture series. Andre Chaudron maintains a Cage discography at http://www.johncage.info/ And there's a good collection of his sound poetry (including his impossible-to-find live collaboration with Sun Ra) online at the amazing Ubuweb, at http://www.ubu.com/feature/sound/feature_cage.html -- | jzitt@josephzitt.com http://www.josephzitt.com/ | | GPG: A4224EFA http://www.mp3.com/josephzitt/ | | == New book: Surprise Me with Beauty: the Music of Human Systems == | | Comma / Gray Code / VoiceWAVE Silence: the John Cage Discussion List |
