ornette coleman... best release.... lets hear it
I'd probably have to go with either the classic quartet on 'Shape of Jazz to Come' or just about any of the trio recordings with David Izenzon and Charles Moffet (the 2-volume live in Stockholm is a good starting point). But I also really really like the later 'Body Meta' -- it's the best Prime Time record I've come across. It's electric, but not like any other fusion you'll hear. A similar record that he plays on is 'Tales of Captain Black' by James Blood Ulmer. Excellent shit. That's probably really my favorite now that I think about it. I'll change my mind when I listen to 'Art of the Improvisers' tomorrow. 'Science Fiction' is pretty great, too. --crowmeat np: E#/Carbon - Tocsin
