From : Bill Ashline <williamashline@yonsei.ac.kr> NP: Otomo Yoshihide's New Jazz Quintet, Tails Out, DIW 946. I've been lucky to get a CDR of this before the actual release scheduled for Nov. 25 and it's terrific.
More please! Is it similar to the "Live" disc, or... Alastair -- Personalised email by http://another.com

Yes, it's more similar to the live disc than the studio recordings. It has a version of Strawberry Fields Forever and the first couple of pieces are more straight ahead but the last few cuts incorporate more electronics and are sublime. I don't have the details about the tracks and composers. I'm assuming Sachiko M is playing on the latter tracks, but I'm not sure exactly. Kikuchi Naruyoshi is leaving the group. His replacement, who just spent a week performing in Tokyo and meeting with Yoshigaki Yasuhiro, is going to be a real surprise. Even I am having a hard time believing it. Clues? Think Ground Zero. I'll have my throat cut if I reveal it now. :-)
any idea what Kikuchi Naruyoshi is going to do? i've been a big fan of his since i heard him with Tipographica (a must-hear for Zappa freaks). sean Kikuchi Naruyoshi is leaving the group.
