Is DG resurrecting their Avant-Garde series under a new name? I'd love to see Kagel's "Acustica," long overdue for a reissue. Chris Selvig

And what about: LUDWIG VAN: Mauricio Kagel (DG) STAATTHEATER: Mauricio Kagel (DG) DER SCHALL: Mauricio Kagel (DG) Makes you feel sad that Kagel did not do what Stockhausen did (getting the rights back and publish them on his own label). Patrice.
Hopefully in less pain-in-the-ass fashion than Stockhausen Verlag, though to be honest I haven't dealt with SV since the dark days before the Internet's ubiquity. Between Wergo and Montaigne, maybe all this clicking our heels together over Kagel will do us some good. At 02:12 PM 8/2/2002 -0700, Patrice L. Roussel wrote:

Seeing as how they've already done a reissue of "1898" and Music for Renaissance Instruments (and this was BEFORE they started doing the other reissues), I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility. Maybe you should go to the company's website (www.deutschegrammophon.com/20-21) and make the request. Funny you should mention the "Avant-Garde" series. When I interviewed someone from DG about the "20/21 Echo" series this morning, I mentioned that I'd bought all of the CD reissues in the circa-'80s "20th Century Classics" series, and he responded that when he was in college, he'd done the same with the Avant-Garde LPs. Given all of this DG news, should I even mention that I got an advance copy of the new Nonesuch 7-CD Rzewski solo piano set yesterday? It's really happening at last... and talking about Rzewski: he played a wonderful set Thursday night in Antwerp, with Steve Lacy (part of Lacy's Farewell-to-Europe-Tour) geert Steve Smith wrote:
