If anyone has any reccomendations on which Trojan comp to pick up, they would be much appreciated! Respond off-list, since this is a far cry from anything zorn related...

I'd like to make a request for these recommendations to be posted to the list, on the grounds of 1. these Jamaican musics being referenced consistently in Zorn's music and in the Tzadik catalog; and 2. in the eclectic spirit of Zorn's aesthetic. Topicality dispensed with, I can direct you to the Trojan 3-cd boxes, which are often $15 and super-hot, if light on packaging. (I've really dug the Trojan dub boxes and the Soul box.) That makes them really a better deal than the (totally awesome) Soul Jazz comps. I have been enthralled by the Soul Jazz 100% DYNAMITE! and 200% DYNAMITE! comps, which have a lot of soul, funk, and dancehall, in addition to the reggae and dub; less happy with the 500% DYNAMITE! comp. --------s __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
