On the background, alternating Middle-Ages woodblocks, another recurrence in Kang's imagery. To finish with, the duo embarked on a wild improvisation, some sort of noisy dialogue with very low notes on keyboards and screeching bowed violin that regained the audience's attention. Truly amazing. Jessica finished the performance with some ear-perforating screaming. After the concert, Kang told me this was their first performance. It's incredible how these guys can offer such a complete and perfect show with these very few elements. By the way, Kang's such a charming guy. Don't hesitate to approach him and you'll get a lot of food for thought out of your conversation. I guess almost everyone here has seen Fantomas before, so I'll be brief. I saw them during the "Director's Cut" tour and I even have a bootleg from their first live show in SF and things have changed. Even if it seemed they couldn't get any better, they sound tighter!! They performed some sections from "DC", a selection of "Director's Cut" and the s/t album, the usual "Simply Beautiful" and some compositions I couldn't recognize. I assume they're from unreleased album, and they sounded much closer to the fast-paced changes of the first recording, although they were a bit longer and perhaps more developed (if possible). The audience was incredibly responsive, and so was the band, with Patton using his heavily accented Spanish to address himself to us.

Sorry about the length of this e-mail, but it was an unforgettable night, to the extent that I'm falling asleep at the office. I'll write "decent" reviews of this in Spanish and English in short.
