Just bought the following sampler at Borders: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** - THE SHAPE OF JAZZ TO COME: various artists This record features Matthew Shipp (1), The Blue Series Continuum (2,8), Tim Berne (3), DJ Wally (4), Antipop Consortium (5), David S. Ware String Ensemble (6), DJ Spooky (7), Kidd Jordan/Fred Anderson Quartet (9), William Parker (10), El-P (11), Spring Heel Jack (12). 2003 - Thirsty Ear (USA), THI 57138.2 (CD) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Does anybody know if it is again a special sampler only available at Borders. Also, any idea when it came out? Thanks, Patrice.
It's available elsewhere than just Borders, bought my copy at a pretty small record shop. I've had it for a few weeks now, and FYI I doubt the release is much more than a month old. Great packed disc of music for a damn cheap price. Anyone who doesn't have a copy already should get one. -Richard --- "Patrice L. Roussel" <proussel@ichips.intel.com> wrote:

Apologies if this has been asked already (I'm wading through a backlog of email)... Are the tracks on this compilation culled from other releases, or are they unique to the disc? (E.g., is the Tim Berne from 'the sublime and', also on thirsty ear?) -whit On Thu, 20 Nov 2003, Richard Kamerman wrote:
