Hi.
apparently zorn told downtown music gallery that during his 50th b-day celebration a tonic, 'a version of painkiller' would be performing...
When is this?? A new Zorn-fest, perhaps?!
anyone have any guesses as to who the drummer might be?
Hm, don't know. Is Mick Harris not drumming at all any more? I think Ted Epstein sat in for him before, but I also haven't heard about him in ages.

Who is this guy? The Laswell discography mentions an upcomming album with those two and Dave Lombardo.

supposedly there will be a month(?) long celebration similar to what was done for his 40th birthday at the Knitting Factory.

Mick lost confidence in his drumming a while ago, and was concentrating on his more electronic works like Scorn and Quoit. Unfortunately, he recently declared that he was through with music. Not the first time it's happened, but who knows. He's been unresponsive to communication for the most part in the last 2 weeks...

He's an Italian guitarist. He had/has a group called 'Sigillum S' that was his focal point (sort of Industrial/Power Electronics). He's been working with Laswell quite a bit in the last few years, including the Charged project and the excellent Somma project. The later put out an OK CD, but it's the live shows they've done that are really stellar. Hopefully they'll issue one one day. The Lombardo project has been pushed back until at least January, by the way. I don't remember if Eraldo said why, but I suspect Slayer might have something to do with that. The link to Eraldo's pages is below. He's definitely developed into a great artist, IMO.

Any good?
I think so. Different from the studio disc in that the live shows feature the 3 core members as well as DJ Disk, Aiyb Dieng and Hamid Drake. Eraldo culled tracks from various shows over the last few years, so it is not one whole show. It will be out in the States Tuesday.
