so patrice, what is the count braxton v. lacy v. zorn? i'm curious and you did all that counting, so let us know. i admit, i am not only a fan of the music but a fetishist. while we're at it, how bout a zornlist poll of which leader you have the most albums of and how many? for me, that would be miles, although i'd need to go home and make a count to tell you how many. dozens. martin p.s. yall think heller should skip the horns on his next CD?

Just guessing based on linear inches (or feet) of shelf space taken up, I'd have to say it would be Sun Ra.

Hey man, horn players need gigs too... share the wealth...

Relative shelf-space and percentage of released work, my bigs are Bob Dylan, Benny Goodman, Bill Evans, Thelonious Monk, Merle Haggard, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, and -- don;t know if he qualifies as a bandleader -- Charles Ives.

NO!! After that live trio record, absolutely not. I need another voice up there to balance things stylistically. Plus, I get bored listening to my own solos.

Mine would be Miles, Zorn, John Cage (ok, not a bandleader), and -- by a large margin -- King Crimson (though that's a band rather than a bandleader... the margin would be even larger if I were to aggregate the bands and projects that Fripp has led).
