William: The line-up won't be announced until about January-February of 2003. Then it won't be until about a month before it happens (around April-- FIMAV is always during the Canadian Victoria Day weekend) that FIMAV will say on exactly which date each musician will appear. I think FIMAV honcho Michel Levasseur figures that he can sucker folks into booking the whole five days if he does it that way. In general the way it breaks down is that the heaviest-most jazz-oriented-improv stuff usually happens Friday-Saturday-Sunday. Except for a couple of years ago when Cecil Taylor played solo, Monday is usually a write off. Be advised (as the flames gather strength), this is the opinion of a jazz-improv snob.
