I really don't know how to defend an album like this to somebody who doesn't like it. I really like it a lot. It's not a typical Melvins release, so one shouldn't buy it first, but if you've got the whole hour it takes to listen to it, it's worthwhile. I've read interviews where Buzz describes it as an hour long version of "Eye Flys," and I think that description is fairly accurate. The concert was an experiment. Buzz wanted to do something different, and succeeded, perhaps at the cost of a few loyal listeners. I've never heard Prick, but from what I hear about it the two albums are completely different, and the only similarity is that listeners don't seem to like either one.
