Well, I must admit, I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek with the (jazz snob eat shit) rock comment. (hope the response isn't too late) I actually really enjoy the new Metallica single. It harkens back to the days of "ride the lightening" or "kill 'em all." I'd be scarred to listen to the rest of the album though. It seems a vist to San Quentin (sic) & an in-studio therapist helped them find there inner-angst-ridden-early-twentysomethings. Lars seems to be rockin' out again & Rob Truijio (sic) alwasy kicks ass. (Where is Mike Muir?) I think the Melvins are by far the best thing happening in rock. I know they're a dinosaur of the 80's & 90s, but those guys are making the best fuckin' music of their career. I saw them recently at the Fox in Boulder, Colorado and it had to be the best performance I've ever seen 'em do. Mark D was probably a better bass player, but Kevin Rutmanis has an incredible stage presence and really seems to drive all the bands he plays in. And Dave Lombardo is OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD on the Cremaster 2 (it's 2, right?) soundtrack! my 2 cents Matt Garrington PS Word on the street is that Heifetz & Bear said that Mr. Bungle will "almost" definitley do another studio album, but a tour would be very, very doubtful. Best news I've heard in a long while. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo! DSL - Now only $29.95 per month!
