i mean, who could come up with a tuning like CCEBGD?? i always wished they'd use that one - country pedal steel players used all kinds of crazy tunings, and early blues guitarists did as well.
PS! everybody should be picking up Noxagt "Iron Fist". i heard Brandsdal is good friends with Thurston Moore. have they done anything together, by the way??? on ecstatic peace perhaps? - "Iron Point" is quite good, with the exception of their folky forays - I didn't care for the previous one so much. Ecstatic Peace put out a Brandsdal solo LP, but I don't think Thurston has collaborated w/him. I'm quite fond of Brandsdal's solo work, quite different from Noxagt's rock - since you like the SYR stuff, you'd probably be OK with Brandsdal's experimental work. I'd start with the CD on Corpus Hermeticum, "Freedom Waaaohwaaaoh," probably the only one you can easily track down & his best solo work anyway.
