Bruce from DMG mailed this earlier: ---I was just informed that contrabass legend Peter Kowald, who recently moved to Harlem from Wuppertal had a heart attack and passed away last night after or at a gig he was playing in Brooklyn. I don't know more than that, but this is indeed sad news. He was a lovely & generous spirit and many will recall him working the food stand at the last Vision fest.
