Dave Douglas, William Parker and Michael Blake were among the artists involved in a recent protest concert/fundraiser, but publicity was poorly spread and attendance was reportedly low, according to Dave. On a somewhat related topic, on Saturday night the Knitting Factory (remember that?) hosted a concert billed as "Benefit to End the Israeli Occupation." The bill for that one included Meredith Monk, Marc Ribot, Elliott Sharp, Anthony Coleman and many other prominent and mostly (though not exclusively) Jewish artists.
