Hello Eyal, And don't forget Spaceways Inc. trio with Nate McBride on bass. They play Sun Ra and Funkadelic on their first CD and their own music on the second. Both highly recommended. As for Hamid Drake in general, he put numerous albums with William Parker. All of them are good to say the least. Check for example the Die Like a Dog trio/quartet with Peter Brotzmann. -- All the best, Peter Gannushkin URL: http://www.downtownmusic.net/ Saturday, July 5, 2003, you wrote to me: EH> If you are looking for Vandermark and Drake together, why not EH> try the DKV trio discs- with bass player Kent Kessler- all of them EH> on OKKA. I remember reading in The Wire some time ago about a new live
recording with Drake, Ken Vandermark, Han Bennink and two guys from
The Ex. I think it was recorded at the Wels festival.
Did anybody go to that show? I'm curious if this is one disc I
should be picking up. All the musicians are great, but improvised
stuff can get pretty crowded with as many as five people, perhaps
especially these five! Was it just a noise fest??
