Hi, Despite the negative reviews, I think "Talisman" is an amazing album that works great as an introduction to Painkiller. You'll probably end up buying the 4-cd box on Tzadik, which is amazing, but I wouldn't think twice with this live album. Perhaps it's not as aggressive as "Buried Secrets" or "Guts of a Virgin"- there's more space for the slow, dubby sections- but everything's perfectly balanced. Go for it!
