This isn't exactly a top ten and not everything was released last year but here it is in random order: 1. Animal Collective - Spirits.../Danse... (reissue) I didn't really 'get' _Here Comes the Indian_ or _Campfire Songs_, but the first disc of this reissue has some surprisingly catchy pop undercurrents amidst more abrassive sections. 2. Outkast - The Love below The Andre disc is great. You also hear him deploying all these Top 40 production tricks on tracks that aren't exactly traditional chart fodder. Does anyone know what the sample is on the last track? The electronics sound familiar. 3. Monk - Solo Monk I think it may have been a tip from Skip frm ages ago. 4. M Ward - Transfiguration of Vincent All i can say is you should try to check this out. 5. Jayhawks - Rainy Day Music Heard this at a shop. Doesn't try to hide its influences, i think. One of the tracks makes me think of Bowie. 6. Parmegiani - performing live in melbourne incredible music w/ a sense of humour. 7.Yasunao Tone - live @ ATP at Cambersands 8. Jim O'rourke - Live @ ATP at Cambersands anyone else see Jim's set? i couldn't really see what he was doing, but he seemed to be moving around quite a bit on stage. Seemed to be more than a laptop... Anyone? 9. Love of Diagrams - live somewhere the drummer is great! 10. Delilo - white noise finally read this. 11. Robin Fox solo and with Anthony Pateras. Vocal Concret?! I sorta know these guys but, tis good. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Free Pop-Up Blocker - Get it now http://companion.yahoo.com/
