I'm on a bender since there is seems to be an increasing tide complaining about Frisell recordings of late, along with Horvitz's 4+1 ensemble. What gives? Y'all miss Joey on the drums keepin' Frisell on the edgy side? Musician's move on and do their own thing - so yeah, Mr. left of the left dial guitarist has moved into something akin to mainstream - if we are keeping within the context of zornlist land, of course. And the 4+1 Ensembles latest "From a Window" ? I held off getting that one for a while. Foolish me! Every track flippin' rules, even as about half of them pick up themes from previous recordings.
