Ornette Coleman with Greg Cohen

A post to the Ornette list pointed to an article in Sunday's Fort Worth Star-Telegram. http://www.dfw.com/mld/startelegram/news/local/7332706.htm The info of most probable interest here is that Greg Cohen is now recording with him in a two-bass quartet with another bassist whose name doesn't ring a ball, Tony Falanga, and Denardo Coleman on drums. Those who play with Coleman must stay on their toes because the music moves in so many directions. That's why Cohen, who has played with Bill Frisell, John Zorn and Dave Douglas, jumped at the chance to work with him. "Just when you've climbed one flight of stairs, there's another one to climb," he said. "You don't get stagnant as a musician."
