After years of waiting, I finally received the box set today. Simply amazing. I will take awhile to digest the volume of songs and number of alternate takes (that don't sound repetitive, surprisingly). I'll let the critique of the music up to those more qualified. The packaging is up to usual Columbia standards and of similar style to the Bitches Brew Box. It has a copper metal binding inside a simple black box with Miles on the front (same picture from original cover). The liner notes are uniformly black and white, augmented by a few color pictures (most pictures are black and white, though). The CDs are standard reflective with white writing and geometric designs on the one side. All the CDs look the same except for the large number, which may make them easy to confuse (unlike the distinctly colored BB discs). The fidelity on the original recording is simply amazing: the highs are amazingly crisp and you can actually hear the bass! It doesn't sound like they messed with the mix, just made the sound crisper, as a plus. The single disc version will definitely worth it for the fidelity and whatever bonus tracks are included. All in all, they took their time and made it worth it. Zach
