Somehow, my subscription to this list lapsed, and I've no idea how to
re-up, but I still have this address and am confident that this message will
reach you regardless of it not reaching ME.
Anyway, I just accepted a job offer to teach in FL and will be moving out
of the northeast US as of August 1, so I now have to sell the tickets I've
purchased for concerts in August and July (the latter because I am saving all my
current job's vacation time for moving maneuvers). Anyhow, here's what I
have:
A pair of tickets to see Elvis Costello at Lincoln Center, NYC, on
July 17
Weekend passes for two to the year's Newport Folk Festival in RI on the
weekend of August 7-8. Lineup includes, among others, Wilco, Lucinda
Williams, Doc Watson, Steve Earle.
Weekend passes for two to the year's Newport Jazz Festival in RI on
the weekend of August 14-15. Lineup includes, among others, ORNETTE
COLEMAN (WHICH IS REASON ENOUGH TO ATTEND AND ALMOST TEMPTING ENOUGH FOR ME TO
RESCIND MY ACCEPTANCE OF THE JOB OFFER), Dave Douglas, Dave Brubeck, Wayne
Shorter, Dave Holland, etc. etc. etc. It's the 50th anniversary for
Newport Jazz, so they're pulling out all stops and making it the biggest lineup
ever. It kills me to miss it.
