I think it's going to be easier to get my hands on the cds than renting the movie here. In fact, I already found an internet retailer that stocks some promising recordings, "Rosemary's Baby/The Vampire Killers" among them.
What's the URL? I am still looking for a CD with Komeda's "Knife in the Water" soundtrack.
here, have some linkage: http://www.trytel.com/~skok/komeda.html To an extent, the series is a discographical disaster: over 20 volumes, and the music to "Knife on the Water" is on at least 4 of them. Similarly, 6 or 7 contain the tune "Astigmatic" and it's hard to tell where there's duplication. I highly recommend vol.7 because it has not only the "Knife" soundtrack, but well over a dozen cuts that are just as good. Dark Mingus-ish combos, übercool interludes and lots of stuff with major film-noir feel.. Among the non-soundtrack stuff, Live in Copenhagen and Live at the Jazz Jamboree are really good -- pure catnip for fans of Tomasz Stanko, and you have to wonder why Michal Urbaniak switched from saxophone to violin. all in all, superlative stuff. enjoy, em.s.
