hi arthur, i know exactly what you mean...i'm a bit of a completist, but there's some albums he's done that are definitely more then sub-par...there's a few that come to mind off the top of my head, POSSESSION+AFRICAN DUB, the last two Dub Chamber releases (under Laswell's name)...possibly the recent GiGi release 'Illuminated Audio' in which he basically remixed the album he did with her, stripping it down to a more ambient-dub vein. I know there's more but that's all off the top of my head at the moment. I'd be happy to put clips/tracks up on my website for you to sample if you want? There are also reviews on it of many of his releases if that helps at all. I know he really re-embrace dub in the '90s again, but his first dub tracks were b-sides on singles that he did on Celluloid back in the early '80s... Hi.
What's your favorite Laswell CD in the ethno-dub-fusion vain? Damn, there is so many. I really like "Hallucination Engine" and want to check more, but I have burned my finger once to many and need a bit of advise.
When was the first Laswell dub track recorded, btw?
Cheers.
