Hi, I really enjoy Masada Guitars, although, as mentionned previously, if you have high expectations on it, they'll most certainly won't be match. Of the three guys, Frisell is the one I find the most interesting here, with his electric playing of Katzatz being, for me and by far, the peak of the cd. On acoustic also, I find Frisell being the one bringing something new into the Masada songs. Sparks is also incredibly good, but as said before, nothing unexpected if you've heard his releases on Tzadik. Ribot is here the least interesting to me, his renditions are marvelously executed, but it sounds just like that, marvelously executed, and the second half of the cd, which got a lot of Ribot is a bit boring. Overall, I really like it, nothing really unexpected, a bit too long I think, but it gives some nice views on the Masada songs. Gregoire.
