What's "One Hundred Aspects of the Moon" all about? I'm not familiar with Mori's work (remember listening to "Painted Desert" when it came out, and not being into it).
"One Hundred..." is fantastic, definitely one of my favorite Tzadik albums ever. It has nothing to do with "Painted Desert" at all (which I find extremely boring despite the amazing lineup). This one is a good combination of her edgy electronic approach and great ensemble work with Eyvind Kang, Anthony Coleman, Erik Friedlander and Kato Hideki, among others. All of them are in great shape, but I'd highlight Kang here, with a bit of Subramaniam-style playing, which added to a certain Japanese traditional flavor at some points, makes for a surprisingly melodic and accessible album (considering the author's standards, I mean) I generally like Mori's sound, but her solo records are a bit harder for me.
Is this work based on Yoshitoshi's woodblock print series of the same name? (Which I absolutely adore.)
Bingo! Fantastic drawing too. Best, Efrén del Valle _______________________________________________________________ Yahoo! Sorteos ¡Ya puedes comprar LoterÃa de Navidad! http://yahoo.ventura24.es/
