Check out the Hawthorne district.... there is a nice hostel there too of the same name. The McMinagains' (sp) miniature chain of brew pub movie houses are all over. An old theater here, a historical power company there, a high school... they've renovated all this great old buildings, installed seats and a screen, a tap and a kitchen and man I'll bet they make a killing. 3 bucks for a movie and you can watch with a pitcher of ruby red ale. I really dont know that "saturday (and sunday) market" downtown is worth it...you'll see... too much noodle dancing for my ass. they have a museum of science with a giant transparrent lady...... as for a place to see good live music I'm at a loss good luck CB ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ajda the Turkish Queen" <freequeen@hotmail.com> To: <zorn-list@lists.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, September 05, 2003 7:03 AM Subject: Tips for Portland, OR Sept.9-15th
