As far as Witte, I tend to be a fan of just about anything he is on: Human Remains, Discordance Axis, Burnt by the Sun (esp. the EP), etc. I still haven't heard much of his stuff with Black Army Jacket or Major Burns, or his duet CD w/ Chris Dodge. Anyone? (Am I getting too far out of list territory here?)
I don't know where list territory ends, but it certainly is interesting. I am familiar with Burnt by the Sun's "Soundtrack to the Personal Revolution". I think it's a good CD, but it could've been better if the production wasn't so muddled. I've been wanting to get into Discordance Axis for some time, but so far I haven't been to find a good starting point - so some help in this respect would be highly appreciated. Burnt by the Sun's drummer kicked major ass, by the way, when I saw him with Melt-Banana last year. Any thoughts on the Mastodon album, "Remission"? I like it, but it suffers from the same problem as the Burnt by the Sun album, which is a very muddled and unclear production, which buries a lot of what is going on under hiss. Frankco.
