Talkin about Fred Frith, any thoughts about his live duo with René Lussier "Nous Autres" (Victo)?
Nous Autres is only quasi a duo album, most of the tracks have a group, but on all tracks you can hear Frith and Lussier playing together. It has a genuine 'project feel': a bit of this, a bit of that: some beautiful improvised duets, and some thoroughly arranged group pieces a la 'late period Henry Cow'. The cd has some extra material over the original vinyl, those are nice studio Frith/ Lussier duets. By mixing all of this stuff together on one cd, the whole tends to lose focus, but all in all, the pieces themselves are powerful, sometimes in an authentic early eighties rock vein. I can not help you with the Zorn 'WEIRD LITTLE BOY album, because I don't know that one. Regards, Remco Takken
