A few more bassist recs: Aston Barrett on all the Bob Marley and the Wailers albums, especially Catch a Fire. Justin Meldal-Johnson with Beck (listen to him on Sea Change's "Paper Tiger"). Mike Gordon rocks with Phish, listen to something live or Story of the Ghost. Some of the tastiest work ever is Bhatiki Kumalo in Paul Simon's group. Rhythm of the Saints, Graceland, You're the One. Jaco is king, also check out Joni's Mingus, the self-titled Jaco Pastorius, and Pat Metheny's Bright Size Life. Skuli Sverrinson (sp?) with Jim Black's Alasnoaxis and Pachora has chops and does cool textural things. Ryan
