Hi I just spotted that, maybe somebody can explain it: the information in Masada's Fist Live CD is that this "first ever" concert was recorded on September 2, 1993. I think it's a wrong date. Have a look at http://www.nwu.edu/jazz/performance/zornfest/ - it's a Ed Price's report from almost all shows which were a part of Zornfest, KF's celebration of his 40th birthday. According to Ed, on Sept 2nd the programm was "Classical Works" (Road Runner, String Quartet, Carny, The Book of Heads). It makes sense, because the month long shows were ordered form latest works, to newest projects. The THIEVES QUARTET (not yet "Masada", this is the name of the band on "Filmworks III: 1990-95" album, which was their actual first recording) was playing on Sept. 12, not 2nd. It looks like "1" is missing in the print of recent Tzadik release. Patrice saw few shows on Zornfest, I'm sure he has printed schedule in his archives. Any comments? __________________________________________________________________ Artur Nowak [arno at emd dot pl] www.emd.pl/muzyka NP: Masada "First Live 1993"
