i know exactly what you mean...i'm a bit of a completist, but there's some albums he's done that are definitely more then sub-par...there's a few that come to mind off the top of my head, POSSESSION+AFRICAN DUB, the last two Dub Chamber releases (under Laswell's name)...possibly the recent GiGi release 'Illuminated Audio' in which he basically remixed the album he did with her, stripping it down to a more ambient-dub vein.
I'd concur with dave on the Dub Chamber discs, particularly 3, with some very nice playing by Nils Petter Molvaer , and also add Points of Order and Sacred System Chapter Two. But, IMHO, the best thing Laswell has done in years has got to be Tabla Beat Science: Tala Matrix, less dubby than you might be looking for, but with some blistering rhythms. The live Tabla Beat Science is really nice as well.
