Violence/War in some artist/music-oriented context is fine with me.
I refuse to believe the human species is genetically capable of being any different.
I think they are, i don't see ducks and lions going around shouting for peace, the human species is genetically capable of doing so. War is not a nice thing, it even is a terrible thing, it blasts your legs away, demolishes your home and wipes out your family. If reality starts to become complicated, in understanding or stearing, i can understand how you may resort to War or Violence. But is that good and does that solve problems? The World and Iraq are probably better of with out Saddam or such a regime he is putting on. I guess there is no question about that. But
military power is the only way to get rid of him
Are you so sure about that? I do agree, that Bushes bulldog rhetoric does help put pressure on Saddam to disarm and cooperate more with inspections. I am not convinced that actual going to war is a necessity. But with our "world leader" it seems very likely that they will, regardless of any progress or concerns. Very frightening I find is not so much their rhetoric towards Saddam or Iraq, but towards their allies and towards his fellow country men. Also in bushes rhetoric there are many religious references, which makes me believe he is an insane psycho disturbed fanatic, and never would i follow a guy like that to war, nore would believe any of his reasoning. It would be great, that if we gert rid of Saddam, we also get rid of Bush and his friends. Former administrations may not have adopted such a god-near rhetoric, still they were also capable of starting insane wars or "get rid" of country leaders they just didn't like (think Chili). Why is suddently the only way to go to War? They were so successfull in getting rid of other presidents, not many times they where successfull in it by starting a big war with lots of bombs. A good thing I think all this has, and that is the distance bushes and rumsfeld verbal attacks has put between the "willing" and the "let us think about it" countries (not countries, their leaders), that for a moment the world doesn't look like a one man show. I am not convinced if the way france, germany and russia are doing it is optimal, but any other way would have been suboptimal too. If they would have thought longer about the implementation of their ideas, it would have given it the looks of developing plans secretly, if they come out with it early, the plans are dismissed as not finished. Right now, they are accused of both. I hope that they will come up with a good plan to relieve Iraq without a war, and without gaining "free access" to their oil reservoirs, which would really destabilize the world and would give to much power to just a few, who have also proven not to be any better than Saddam in the past. They already gotten their pipeline through Afghanistan. And if it is really only about "a better world", man there is so much more to do than practicing my gun. Just my thoughts to it.
