Jimmy Lyons "Other Afternoons" (BYG Records/Actuel 9) w/ Lester Bowie, Alan Silva, Andrew Cyrille (altho my LP copy is in decent shape, unlike my copy of the charming "Catalonian Folk Songs" by Tete Montoliu -- which was reissued on CD but packaged with another album and cut several of the tracks of CFS).... martin

I bought a bunch of the BYG reissues, some on each format (whichever was less $). I have yet to figure out why some of this stuff is coming out on both formats, and some not.

Not jazz (but what is?): Does anybody remember a couple of great psychedelic country albums on Columbia by a Canadian duo, Fraser and DeBolt? - that would be Allan Fraser and Daisy DeBolt, and one album featured a fiddle player, Ian somebody. Haven't heard them in many(25-30?) years, Daisy still plays, I guess, but it was some chemistry with them then. If anybody's holding one of those old LPs and can burn, we gotta talk. Dan

If by 'No New York' you mean the Brian Eno-produced New York no-wave compilation, that came out on Japanese CD last year or thereabouts. Granted, it's usually stupid expensive (the lowest price at gemm.com is $33.20, the highest $57.34), but it's out there. Mondo Kim's in the East Village stocks it, though it's not on their website. The only source that froogle.com brings up is CDconnection.com, which carries it for $37.46. If you mean something else (I don't know nuthin' about Henson Cargill), then don't mind me.
