Hi, Here some answers to the questions of Jon: 1. Till Brönner (http://www.tillbroenner.de) playes his trumpet on at least three tracks of the new album (Source: Boris on an French Radio Interview given last year. Link was posted here in the list. I dont speak french, but Boris answered in german, ha, ha! my native language!). In an other Interview (Promo interview for "the eye" on a local Radio-Station in Berlin) Boris was asked for new Guest singers for future albums. On his wishlist was Dinah Washington (but not alive anymore) and Eratha Kit (great voice). Both very jazzy. 4. Till Brönner will be in Switzerland for two concerts in April 06. Will he combine it with some Promo-dates for the new Yello-album? My guess for release of the new album: 21th April 2006. Risky tip? 3. The new Yello-Artwork-Site is really great! Very good design - simple and functional and of course great content! The newsblog has great potential to become the number one info source about yello in the world. 5. My favorite unreleased tracks from the remasterseries: IT Splash and Smiraks Train - both never heard before... Grüße aus Berlin Max Smily
My Guess is Tuesday,April 25, 2006 for the release of the new YELLO album! And before any one gets their buns in a knot, It's good to see that John still chooses to use the word 'guys' to represent a group of people without isolating their gender. One of the worst things that has happened to society and language recently has been the desire to change the use of words and phrases because one of their possible meanings has 'suddenly' become offensive to some. Having gone down this path so far, many of the old descriptive words have been replaced with vagueries, and do not convey the proper meaning that the word they replaced did. Case in point here, I would have to describe myself as 'vertically challenged'. What does that mean exactly? Am I short or am I tall? If I were 'mentally challenged', is that because I am a student, or am i deficient in the brain department? OK, so I lost it there for a second, but as the title says, BACK ON TRACK now, Great effort on the new website Jon. I hope that you get some new submissions from the productive and creative ones in the group that would allow their work to be played on your podcast! I do like the re-work done to The Rhythm Divine, with the added whistle, and the sound of a speeding train right at the end! That reminds me to ask - who's whistling is it on The Rhythm Divine. I had always assumed it was Dieter, until I heard 'Norma Jean' (an early version of The Rhythm Divine), and wondered if Billy Mackenzie was whistling. (Of course it could have been Boris all along.) Anyone have any ideas? Mark P. ----------------------<http://users.tpg.com.au/mrpulley/

I also have assumed that Dieter is blowing past pursed lips here, especially due to the jaunty, up-beat feeling to the sound. Tou would have to go through the Associates catalogue to find a track or two where Billie is whistelling to see if it matches, but I still believe that it is Dieter. I have just added a couple of short mp3s to my site. The first is a clip of Billy Mackenzie whistling ('Even Dogs in the Wild' from The Associates' first album 'The Affectionate Punch'). The second is a clip from 'Norma Jean' from Billy Mackenzie's album 'Auchtermatic'. http://users.tpg.com.au/mrpulley/temporary/EvenDogsInTheWildSample.mp3 http://users.tpg.com.au/mrpulley/temporary/NormaJeanSample.mp3 Mark P. ----------------------<http://users.tpg.com.au/mrpulley/

Well, according to my 'EAR', the whistler in question is, no question, NOT Billie. The question remains, WHO IS IT? I'm still pullin' that it's Dieter.
