New and updated versions of classic Yello albums? That's great! I guess dreams DO come true! On a related subject, I also understand that Boris Blank has a bunch of unreleased tracks he did with the late (and great) Billy Mackenzie that he someday planned to release as a complete album of it's own. From what I've read, Boris was (quite understandably) very distressed when Mackenzie took his own life 8 years ago, and this was the reason for the delay. I was wondering if any progress has been made on this project. If the tracks are anywhere near as good as "Moon On Ice" or "Capri Calling" it would be a shame to leave them incomplete and unreleased. In any case, I respect the artist's feelings on this matter. Anyone know anything about this? Tom Savoy

Boris is currently going through old tapes to see if they are in good enough condition for this. Hopefully there will be at least around four extra tracks on each album. I did send them a suggested list of suitable extra tracks, but it's up to Yello to decide what to include of course (this was the "interesting news" I have been telling you about).

My dream came true today in a form of an email.
This is what Jonas sent out today:
Hello! Finally I have some good news: there are plans to re-issue Yello's first six albums (Solid Pleasure to Flag) on CD in around May this year. Boris is currently going through old tapes to see if they are in good enough condition for this. Hopefully there will be at least around four extra tracks on each album. I did send them a suggested list of suitable extra tracks, but it's up to Yello to decide what to include of course (this was the "interesting news" I have been telling you about).

I'm speechless! Now if only it came in a limited edition package with all the albums... I would be complete for me.

That't good news. It would be great if they really do that. And also "The new mix in one go" may be remastered. But albums like Claro Que Si (my first album) would be awsome to see in a new edition. And Flag on SACD-Hybrid CD would be great.

What kind of differences can we expect if they "remaster" those albums? More clarity? Different mix? Are the tracks likely to be noticeably different?

First six albums Solid PleasureFlag. They must not be including New Mix In One Go that would be seven. I would imagine then that some of the extra tracks would be the songs from New Mix In One Go.
