Subject: Re: [Yello] Hello I am new here
So there's an interesting thread, how or where do you most listen to Yello?
3 ways. I heard "the Race" during any number of US radio traffic reports. I listen to Yello casually at home in the background, and and..........Tremendous Pain is Perfect for sex. My girlfriend of 2 years now never heard of Yello, beyond the Beatles Yellow Submarine. She's 45 and hooked on it now. She's also into Moby, Boards of Canada, Art of Noise, 808 state......and on and on...... Now that she's "Yelloized" she hears it all over the place. I call it a good thing. Corbett.
I seem to listen to yello more on the home stereo. Yello music always wants to be played on the best possible reproduction. There are so many details and little nuances that listening to it on the noisy road just isn't the same. Julian On Mar 10, 2006, at 2:42 AM, Paprboy698@aol.com wrote:

I agree to some point, but I find that going over a pothole makes the record jump :-) However for me the car is one of the few places I can listen at the volume I want to. I have a CD-MD head unit / changer plus active crossover split amping for the bass and mid/high, and good quality speakers. Noisy road.. Pardon? :-) I'd agree a home system by and large has better fidelty but it is not often I can listen to it the way I'd like to. -- Regards, Nic. Zebra is great for driving. It never left my car for almost a year when it came out. - carsten Julian schrieb:

Yeah'ello! I've been away for some time and think its just absolutly great to find this list still up!! Yes!! And most of the old gang is also still around! Hope you are all okay people!! Mind if I plant a couple questions? What about these re-issues I heard about of the old Yello tracks? Have they all been remixed, boosted in quality, or is it more a re-release, with nothing fancy going on? And wasn't it Dieters birthday early this month? Any info on a new album? Cheers, Rene from The Netherlands
Welcome back! We missed you :) New albums sound awesome! Completely remastered from original tapes. The soundstage is huge and details are amazing. Especially on the earlier albums. And yes... lot's of extra tracks. New album supposedly coming at the end of this year. But you never know. Julian On Friday, March 10, 2006, at 02:57PM, Rene <t013463@tip.nl> wrote:

Welcome back, my brother from another mother! You've been missed! --gcr
Welcome back Rene!! Glad to hear you are well! The Re-issues ARE in fact REMASTERS!! with added rarities unless you are an avid fan and collector. They are already available at reduced prices from most sources. A new album is aparantly in the works, but perhaps not until 2007 spring. Good morning indeed!! Thank You Thank You Thank You! To all of you, either on and off list, trying to re-connect me with my files!!! Jon, Julz, Laurens, GCR... Thank you for all your time and effort in this!! Have a friendly smoocher! Don't worry, I don't wear lipstick :-))) This is just briliant! Having these files back! I listened to them with a mug of nice hot coffee, as the sun peaked through the blinds... on this sunny and snowy morning... sigh... My Planet Dada version gave me the shivers. Really it did! But more, because I started to compare what I did in that track with what I've been trying to do for the last year and a half or so. Ha! I mean, these days I don't even seem to be able to program a beat with a couple of hihats... sigh... Oh wel. And listening to Soul On Ice had me go back to all the excitement prior to the contest, to then finally get the password and download the original Yello samples. Sjees... I've missed this! The forum is also excelent! I'm going through the mixes of Arno, Daniel, Greg, Zody... the creativity is just oozing here... I really, really feel like hooking up all my gear again and get bussy, eventhough I know I don't even have to try :-))) Excelent!! What a cewl Saturday morning! Blessings, Rene
