Hi, everbody. Still longing to hear the album? Now the album is in a computer near you - it's out on Spotify.com streaming audio. Listening to it right now. Good, very Yello'ish. A bit reflective but also innovative at the same time - but hey, It's Yello! PS, ordered my hardcopy as well! BR Mikael
Hey gang, Do you think Yello went a bit downtempo and loungy on their new album by coincidence or by strategy? Without having played their last few albums recently, my memory from 2 or 3 of them is that they went in the dance direction. But now they seem to have calmed down. I've always wanted them to try something more ambient. So Touch Yello is a compromise for me! They've pumped it up for so long it's time to reflect a bit. I believe Yello is capable of just about anything. Like all great artists they have allowed for some "space" so that the listener can "fill in" on their own. They are showing restraint here. I wouldnt call the new album ambient, but an actual ambient album from them would be interesting. Their brand of sounds, vocals and production techniques in an ambient album would be something special.
