Could of easily of been prepared for the show and then lipsynced. ,Jonathan ------------------------- Yello is not a "Live" performance band. Taken from Yello interview: In 1983 YELLO did their first ever and one of their VERY rare live performances. At New York's Roxy, in front of a mostly black and Hispanic crowd of 3000. The performance were later released on the EP Live At The Roxy and on video, The YELLO Video Show. Since then they have stated that they don't want to perform live. Mainly for two reasons: 1. They don't want to reproduce what they've already done. -Dieter says that it may be as asking Matisse to paint some of his pictures again, and this time in front of a live audience. 2. The tracks and rhythms are already played in the studio and are stored on track and in the synthesizers. So the live-idea would loose it's meaning.

How do you lipsynch something with no vocals? I know there are a few seconds of vocals in this version, but it must have been boring for Dieter to stand around just to lipsynch these few seconds - assuming he was even there! Probably you`re right - I just hoped there might have been a performance I didn`t knew about and somewhere might be even a recording of great interpretations of their songs.................... I found the statement you added before and it makes sense artistically but is a bit sad from the "fan point of view" ; ) I was always curious how electronic music (or mainly electronic music) can be performed live, especially in the 80`s when not many bands where around. Carsten
did you ever see early Tears For Fears Live, YYYYYAAAAAWWWWNNNNNN. they tried to make fun of the stack of sequencers and computer that controlled them all, by giving it a name, but it didn't help. Thomas Dolby, on the other hand blended live instruments beautifully with his fairlight, and the funky Yamaha keyboard that looks like a guitar so that he could work the stage, rather than sit behind the machine. If you're wondering where JD, front man for the NEW INXS, got the idea for using a megaphone for singing part of his songs, he got it from Mr Dolby. I saw him use it Live back in '83 or '84 in Toronto. Laurens van Graft The Grip Guy (thegripguy@rogers.com) All your gymnastics grip needs right here! PODCASTING IS CHANGING THE WORLD!
