Translating Swiss German into English is quite a challenge for me. I have tried my best :-)

M: Let me announce the most imaginative fashion artist, the maverick of some decades, the action artist, the film maker, he opened up a restaurant (in Zürich), he is selling beef, he lives in Argentinia, he is part of the Elektropopduo Yello. The "elder statesman" of Swiss Pop, DIETER MEIER.

You have become a farmer, a restaurant owner, which areas have you not been successfull in?

D: I am working in an abstract way. Producing a movie is completely abstract. As a young boy I had an affinity to concrete things. I always wanted to clean somebody's shoes. Organic farming is vegetable cultivation. It grows, it is a reasonable product.

M: Are you cooking in your restaurant?

D: I am acting as the assistant cook, the heave-hoe cook. I am unsystematic. I can cook something from any content of a fridge. The restaurant is located in the middle of the banking district, in a former bank building. The neighbours are happy, since there were two restaurants crashed before. I am not actively working there. I have other things to do.

I have my farm in Argentinia. My people are working there. It is not a milk farm. We have cattles. We export beef to Switzerland, beautiful beef, organic beef. It comes by ship, well hung <laughing>.

Q: How do you get a farm?

D: It is not easy to open an organic farm, regulations in Argentina are more severe than in Switzerland.

Q: A military dictatorship, now an organic dictatorship? Are you home sick of the showbusiness?

D: I have made a new CD with Yello: - Gauchos are guarding my cattles, no dogs. This is the best way to do it, this is the best way for the grass.

Q: You have shown a movie 4 years ago.

D: This was 5 years ago. This is a "never ending piece".

Q: You work on this movie for 15 years now?

D: Almost 20 years. Some material got distroyed. The move will be finished in March. I am adding sound now. I play a role as the bad guy. It is interesting to see myself over 20 years. The movie is self funded, I also got money from the goverment. The movie was shown in Berlin, but I did not want to have it in the cinemas, as it is not finished.

Here is a video of a recent TV talk show in which they interview Dieter Meier. Dieter is introduced at about 25:30 into the show and stays until the end of the video. There is some talk about James Bond when a girl is introduced after Dieter. Dieter also mentions Yello a few times. Can anyone please translate what he is saying?
