Yea'ello People!

I just switched jobs and am now working in shifts with ludicrous times... leaving me less time to read the posts :-(

Anyway, here's a couple of things I have to add on this pretty rainy sunday morning.

Arno, you are driving me mad! Really! When listening to the music you wrote for the movie ya have me itch all over. Man, you're really feeding me with inspiration to get going on the music again! Let alone the remixes I listened to on the forum! Thank you for sharing that!

Same goes for all of you who have their mixes on there! Listening to your stuff had me hook up my gear again, and I'm doodling with sounds, so there's a start!

Carlos Peron...

When I was 19 or 20, I worked in Germany at some research company and did a lot of late nite work. On sunday eve's while still writing on software, I listenend to Radio FFN - Grenswellen with Eckie Stieg (or something like that). At this time Carlos Peron came out with a new album which had motorman on it. Or it was just an interview, reviewing his work, I'm not sure anymore.

Peron was asked if this album would have been the new Yello album if he had remained a member of the group. I don't remember his answer correctly, so I wont go into that. But I still know my response: "I'm glad you left Yello, Carlos!".

I always had a feeling that Boris was the main musician on the older albums, where Peron functioned as the side-kick adding his own bits. But that Boris provided the thing that had it all float. I could be wrong of course. What do I know?! Yet, I've listened to several of Peron tracks and am more than pleased that Boris works alone on his music... making it all the Yello we know and love.

Motorman struck me as well as the counterpart, the echo, of The Race! And years later I made a little version of Motorman myself. And I'm still as happy as a dog with seven dicks that I had my backup cd's. Because I found this track as well. It's a bad mix, but taken that I made it with a AWE 32 Sound Blaster, a SR16 drumcomputer and Re-Birth, I think it's funny enough to listen to again :-)

Sigh... if only I could sing... :-))

About the mentioning of Peron in the credits on the re-issues...  Perhaps now we get a clearer picture of how much Peron was involved in the production of the original albums. It reminds me abit of that little note on One Second where it says: With the occasional appearence of Dieter Meier. A little sign that Boris worked quite some time alone on the album...

Jah Bless
