It’s a nice book designwise, not very big, hardcover,
measuring only 22x15 cm, 220 pages, of which merely
100 are text, the other half of the book are photos,
so in a way even if you can not read German, you will have
many pages of nice photos, many unpublished.

I have not really started reading it yet, but sifted through
the pages. I noticed one thing that surely is an error,
that I.T. Splash (Yello’s first single) was released 16 Jan 1979.
No way. It came out in June. There was never a “date”,
as it’s distribution started slowly from a record shop.
In January of 1979 it had only been recorded, no graphics
were designed, no credits written, no test pressings, nothing.
I guess if they had consulted me, things like these
could have been avoided. But I guess errors like that
are not a big concern in the big picture. Who cares, except
the biggest fans, after all? Anyway no hard feelings, I hope
the book sells well, so they will feel motivated to do
a translation. In my last email I said I understand 40 %
of the German words, well that was probably an understatement,
I understand more, maybe 70%, I estimate, I can tell when
I’m reading. So my German school lessons were not a total
waste after all.

Anyway, I think it’s good to have these books coming out,
so I can do better Ler

I had an idea to send Boris fan greetings on his next birthday,
which will be his 60th (15 Jan 2012). But now there is fb,
I guess anyone can send there instead. But not sure if Boris
will read them all. But I know for sure he will read if I send to him
via email. So, why not send me your greetings, you have plenty
of time. Last time was 10 years ago. You can tell him also
if you want an English Yello book, and CDs with rare and unreleased
material.......

As always, you can always check out Yello+Dieter releases

All best/JW
