I've been a member of this list for, oh maybe 10 years now, I'll look up my early messages to let you know, but I remember when Jonas Warstad was a member of the list, then he went to set up his own, and *I* got into a bit of mudslinging, laying down the law, but it happened, Jonas set up his news list rather than sent his information to this list, but the discussion of items posted has appeared here so I don't think I've missed anything. (I never subscribed). Jon's right that we are *all* trying to share content, and I'm trying to provide stuff as well when I get the mechanics sorted, but these mailing lists are non binary, so I can see why the Forum has a place, and perhaps this new list too. This is like we all live in the same virtual street, I go along to gcr's house and say "have you heard this", gcr goes to Jon's house and shows him a video, no money is changing hands, we're being careful content doesn't fall into the wrong hands. Discussion here does go offtopic sometimes, but I value and consider everyones opinion and view, I learn from the on topic as well as the offtopic, and the banter about M$ vs. Apple is entertaining, because my preferred platform is neither! gcr and Jon are both very valuable content providers, and while I know I've had a little trouble getting some of it to work, other friends here on the list have helped me. I guess the key thing here is that people are making the effort to provide content, we doing this on our own time in the way we each know best, and while I may not agree that any one method is the best, I'm grateful for the time you *all* (yes you reading this) spend contributing, even if it is just an opinion. Or even if it is lurking and not giving an opinion. Peace! (I will now step down and stop preaching like a monk from another planet!) -- Regards, Nic.
