is there a Yello music video collection available on dvd?
I have 2 different VHS tapes of Yello videos but most of them are
from the 80's

I think this is available, generally, on the P2P
networks. I have the same video in MPG format which weighs in at
44.2mb.
VIDEO: MPEG1 352x270 (aspect 8) 25.000
fps 1200.0 kbps
So, you see that despite it's weight, the
resolution isn't so hot. It appears to have been capped from VHS, as
graininess is evident [though not so much as to disturb viewing], and at about
3:15 the words "HI FI" appear in the upper right hand corner for a few
seconds, at which point the sound quality takes a very noticeable dip for the
same period of time.
Can you provide any specific details about your
file? Format? Scale? Resolution? If your's is "better", then by Peter Paul and
Mary /I'd/ like a
copy!

With regards to my previous post for
YGSYTAE-I was actually sent the video from a friend of mine and unfortunately
it looks like it has been from either the tv or ripped from video as the
"HI-FI" does indeed appear in the top left of the screen-I shall contact my
friend and see if he has the origional or
not

That would be, indeed,
awexome. If you get it, I'm happy to assist in the creation of a torrent so
that nobody's server has to get hammered. Plus, it would definitely be of
interest /outside/ this list as well....
I find it interesting that the
video is so... what to say? b-grade? Yello's videos are all so strange yet
well done. J&S's other videos [that I have seen] are nearly cinematic in
quality - especially "Find Me". I was never a huge fan of Plavka Lonich's
presence in so many of their tunes, but after seeing the videos with her in
them, well, I could listen to her all day long, where listen=watch.
And
speeching of while simultaneously spelunking further into offtopicville, if
you would like to pick off my copies of:
44M
giorgio-moroder-vs.-jam-and-spoon_the-chase.mpg
40M
jam+spoon-featuring-plavka_find-me.mpg
59M
jam+spoon-featuring-plavka_right-in-the-night.mpg
36M
jam+spoon-featuring-reamon_be-angeled-[elector-mv].mpg
34M
the-age-of-love_the-age-of-love-[jam-&-spoon-remix].mpg
Just lemme
know directly off-list.
As I mentioned, find me and right in the night
are both particularly well done. TAOL is more trilly. be angeled "featuring
reamon", as far as I am concerned, should be titled "be angeled burdened by
reamon". The Chase is almost comedically disturbing, and contains skin, in
case one is opposed to such. It also features, briefly, a fat man wearing a
too-small t-shirt and big floppy pink bunny ears, so
hey....
