Takla Makan sounds now like a spiritual zen/yoga track. I think I have about 50 of those spritual cd's. (my wife gives yoga lessons) And Takla Makan is not any differend now than those 50 cd's.(except the first minute) So,..yes a bit of drums would helped the song a lot to make it more intersting, and maybe some differend cords....(personal opinion of course.) 2009/10/9 Mike Messick <michael.messick@gmail.com>
Sweet Thunder has a very rhythmic underlying track along with timpani for emphasis. It doesn't have drums per-se but still has a distinct rhythm. Personally, it's one of my top 5 Yello tracks.

Takla Makan for what it is is amazing. The masterful flute of Dorothee Oberlinger is mesmerizing. But the song is missing one thing. ......... "DRUMS".
"Sweet Thunder" is another Yello instrumental that did not have drums; however I don't believe that it really needed them. Do you feel that "Takla Makan" needs a drum track, or were you just pointing out that it doesn't have one? Just curious.
