Just kidding, ha. We give our residents a hard time for not recording their brush clearing hours and we talk about what things you (or your neighbors) might be doing that are considered nuisances. We also talk about some fun upcoming WH events and warmly welcome new WH neighbors into town! ** Record Your Hours! ------------------------------------------------------------ Thank y'all for dumping your green waste in the WH bins. We've needed to clear them out multiple times a week! It's wonderful that we are clearing our brush and reducing our fire risk. But... We've only had two of our residents report their brush clearing hours so far. Y'all Need to Report "Your Hours". ** Why should I report my brush clearing hours? ------------------------------------------------------------ It helps our city to secure grant funding for fire mitigation efforts! ** Should I report just an afternoon of work? ------------------------------------------------------------ YES, every hour counts! Did you work two hours with a family of five? That counts for a whopping 10 hours. But even just one or two individual's hours makes a difference. Thank you! ** Is it difficult to report? ------------------------------------------------------------ No, it is so quick and easy! Call the city office at 801-423-1962. ** Welcome to WH, Michael & Shauna! ------------------------------------------------------------ The Theobald's built their new home, after 18 months of Covid-delayed construction, and moved in April 9th from Orem where they lived for the past 34 years. Michael commuted to LDS Church headquarters in SLC for 28 years as Director of Organizational Development and Leadership Training. Shauna worked at UVU as the Director of the Small Business Development Center for three counties, worked at Novell where she incubated several tech businesses, and then was Director of the Entrepreneurial Institute at UVU. Michael and Shauna have 4 children and 13 grandchildren and love living on the mountain. Shauna was raised in Salem so living here is like coming home. Help to support the kids within our school district by dropping items off to the WH City Center between 8:30am and 4pm on or before December 13th! They are in need of: * Deodorant male and female * Bar soap * Hairspray * Paper towels * Bath towels * Dish towels * Food pack (easy mac, fruit snacks, granola bars, crackers, beef jerky, fruit squeezes) anything kids could prepare in a microwave by themselves * A cash donation can be dropped off at the city center too! ** Green Waste Dumping Sites in WH! ------------------------------------------------------------ There are currently THREE dumpsters in WH for Green Waste dumping ONLY from South Utah Valley Solid Waste District ( https://woodlandhills-ut.us19.list-manage.com/track/click?u=2ffdbabb491f2799... ) (SUVSWD)!
