The zenith can be a problem for Dobs (that area is sometimes called "Dobson's Hole") but anywhere else a good Dob works just fine. If you don't have experience with Dobs you might try one out at a star party or join SLAS and borrow one from their Loaner Scope program for a few weeks. Patrick
