Sorry we missed some of you folks. There was a group that had possession of the pavilion when I got there at 6:30 PM but they were just finishing up. John Lundwall and David Trevino showed up before 7PM and we got talking about astronomy over by the pavilion (ready to pounce on it when the group left) and we must have missed you guys. John and Lisa didnt make it until about 7:30. When only a couple of us (that I knew of ) were there at 7PM, I figured most people stayed home because of the cold wind. We got started late but John did a segment on the light train and how an image is created at the focal plane. He further explained how to collimate a telescope by using 2 telescopes he brought. Everyone got a chance to peer into the focuser and try to identify 7 concentric circles that John had explained using a white board. It was all very interesting to me and I think the others really enjoyed it too. I had my binoculars setup on a parallelogram and we could see 2 BYU students making out on Y Mountain; at least that was reported by some of the younger folks with very good eyes. I should have set up the binoculars earlier so people would know were to congregate. Sorry, that was my fault. Sorry I couldn't stay longer last night. Thanks for the colimation instructions and the main moon features. I wanted to do some observing after a few days of cloudiness and rain. For those who stayed, I am curious on how much you were able to see, and what rating would you give the viewing conditions. I live close to the park so I sort of share the same light polution from my backyard.
TIA
