Take the University Ave. Exit off I15 -- then proceed straight through the light (turning left takes you toward the Provo Mall, Sams club, Ruby River steak house, etc., but you want to go straight instead, heading East) -- the multi-story Novell building will be on your left. Turn left into the Novell parking lot at the next light and proceed around the building to the right. I'll be set up someplace on the grass to the NE of that large building betwee 4 and 6 p.m. --- On Mon, 6/4/12, Randall McNair <citrusavenger@gmail.com> wrote:

Are you talking south Provo by their big building there?

If any of you want to join me, I'll be setting up my 6" Newtonian, and my 15x70 binoculars (mounted), equipped with solar filters of course, for the Transit of Venus next Tuesday, June 5th in the afternoon. This is the last opportunity (weather permitting!) in our lifetimes to see this rare astronomical event -- it won't happen again for over a hundred years (2117). I'm planning on setting up on the N.E. side of the "great and spacious" Novell high-rise building in the East Bay campus in Provo. If my info is correct, the transit should begin about 4:09 p.m. and go until sunset. Otherwise, if you have solar gear, I recommend you plan some kind of public outreach in your own neighborhood...
Clear skies! /R
