I think I'll be going for sure. Hopefully I'll be bringing the 15" but if not I'll bring the 4" refractor. I may be going out to Warner Valley tomorrow on a four-wheel drive excursion. I'll take a few pictures when I go out there. Debbie

We would love to come down for this star party, and would love to have our scopes there and take a look through your scopes. However, we are teaching an introductory telescope making class on Saturday Feb 21st, 10am at Pioneer Hall located at 1140 W. 7800 S. in West Jordan (across from Gardner Village). This class is free and open to the public. Anyone interested in the night sky, astronomy, telescopes, or mirror making is welcome to come. We will be discussing all of these topics but focusing mainly on telescope designs and mirror making techniques. I will put together an official announcement and send that to the list later today. A small group will be caravanning down to St George Friday Feb 20th for a Star Party. We plan on meeting at the Wall*Mart parking lot, In Provo, off of University Parkway, North end, around 11:45 and departing about noon. We are going to Fort Pearce and will return on Saturday. Rich Thanks for the notice. I would really like to go but I have scouts that night. I haven't heard much from you lately. Hope things are going well and that you have been busy working on your scope or something fun. I have tried to work on my scope but it has been too darn cold. I have managed to sand my tube some more and I will put a coat on it when the temprature get up above 65 degrees. It may be a while. For anyone interested, Wed, 28 January 2004 at 7:30pm in the Aline Wilmot Skaggs Biology Auditorium (West of the U of U Bookstore) Dr. Bruce Ames, Professor of Molecular Biology at UC Berkeley, will present a lecture on "The Metabolic Tune up: Delaying Aging and Optimizing Health", as part of the U's "Frontiers of Science" lecture series (free and open to the public). The lectures in this series so far have been terrific. Also, be aware of a new virus/worm going around in the form of an e-mail attachment (document.zip or data.zip). I've been sent it twice today already, so I suspect it's pretty widespread by now. Like any other email virus, don't open the attachment, just delete the message.
